Just Win

Just Win

(20 yrs old)

I’ve been feeling quite down lately. Things haven’t been going as well as I would’ve liked. My grades are lower than I would’ve liked, though still pretty high, and it takes me more time to study. Pretty much all of my time has sunk into building and rebuilding university projects, of which I have 4 big ones this semester, all due in 2-3 weeks. I haven’t been able to work on any personal projects. The girl I liked and thought was “the one” is dating another guy.

But, the question I keep asking myself is: “So what will you do?”

There is only one thing I can do and that is to get better and win:

  • Study more, focus in class, do the assignments well, and get better grades.
  • Put in the work, be more productive, and get through the suck of uni projects. What am I gonna do, leave them unfinished?
  • Not much I can do right now about the girl dating another guy, but I just have to become a more valuable person. Smarter, more accomplished, more fit, more articulate, more funny.

No matter how bad things are, and thankfully there is more than plenty for me to be grateful for even in this down time, the only option is to get better and win:

  • Study more effectively
  • Read more books
  • Learn more skills
  • Become better at what you do
  • Work out harder

It’s easier said than done. No-one wants to work harder when the times are harder. It takes a lot of discipline and willpower to do this. But what is the alternative?

  • Give up and get worse grades.
  • Present mediocre or unfinished projects.
  • Grow dumber and more ignorant with time.
  • Be mediocre at what you do and get replaced by AI.
  • Watch everyone around you live a better more fulfilling life.
  • Become fat and sad and useless so no girl will ever look at you, let alone like or respect you.

There is no out. Winning is your only option. So just win. Slowly but surely, just win.
